Though the boy’s bowling season began with a few losses, the team has been striking some wins lately.
After last year’s 3-7 record, the bowlers are trying to move away from a difficult season and focus on this year’s schedule.
“Goals for the team are to continue to build upon and improve from the season before,” head coach Tammie Eigenbauer said. “Personally, I am always working on the coach-athlete relationship with each individual team member.”
Senior Louis Gonzalez , tagged as team captain, has noticed an improvement in his performance since last year.
“I see myself growing a lot in terms of the holes in my game ,especially mentally ,but other than that, I’ve gotten a lot better this year,” Gonzalez said.
Late season injuries last year sidelined the team’s chances of winning a spot to compete at state.
“We could have possibly made it, but my main three individuals were injured,” Egienbauer said. “This year the prospects are looking good in hopes that our players stay healthy.”
Gonzalez concurs.
“I hope this season we make it to state, and seeing how we’ve progressed as a team, we can make it to state,” Gonzalez said.
Players anticipate this season to be a redemption with a strong team dynamic and striving for the same goal.
“Our team is extremely energetic, friendly and supportive of our peers, “ senior Ben Eheart said. “We love to talk to other teams around us, make jokes and have a good time. I believe that doing that makes us a better team.”
