Students at Plainfield North High School have made tremendous changes for the 2024-25 school year. Student Council seniors Andrew Elkareh and Sydney Ha have planned this year to be the best one yet.
The increase in events for this year makes the students at North excited to see what is coming.
“With Sydney and I being seniors this year and finally becoming leaders of the Student Council, we wanted to make this year extra special for our class,” Elkareh said.
Making it Elkareh and Ha’s last year at North, the hope for this year is greater than before. With all the events coming up, it’s believed it will be worth every choice.
“Andrew and I have been class representatives together, and it’s just been really fun to see the inside jobs of how everything comes together,” Ha said. “Nothing is finalized yet, but I think that the students will enjoy our ideas.”
Aug. 23 was the day for which the Student Council officially planned a senior sunrise. Elkareh and Ha’s decisions made the students hopeful for the rest of the year.
“Planning the first senior sunrise wasn’t too bad; the hard part was the advertisements and making sure people would show up,” Ha said. “Overall, it was pretty successful, so I’m proud of it.”
The Student Council made these changes not only to have fun but to give the seniors experiences that they will never forget.
“This year, with us being the leaders, I feel like it allows us to give our classmates a voice, and it makes our senior year more fun and enjoyable,” Ha said.
The official decisions throughout this year will change events to be sooner, more fun and overall a better time. Though the year has just started, and our Students Council members have more coming for the students at North.
“We can’t say too much of what’s to come, but we are in the process of getting a few more events finalized,” Elkareh said.
