It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Christmas. It’s a statement that never fails to be said during the late month of November into December, a holiday and time of year where spirits are high for those two days in the 365-day year. If the Grinch’s heart can grow two sizes from the holiday cheer, why can’t everyone’s?
The winter months are some of the hardest months for midwesterners to get through with the cold slushy snow, cleaning sidewalks and cars, extensive Christmas shopping and finding the perfect gift, and making the perfect dish. But could it really be a hoax to see all these people smiling and happy, filled with the supposed “holiday cheer?”
There really is so much to love about the holiday season with endless activities and being surrounded by those you love. From building a snowman to seeing the endless Christmas lights, baking holiday cookies, and decorating, it’s a time of celebrating yet another year of hard work. Though many could argue the holidays are nothing but chaos and stress, there is beauty in these moments.
The holiday spirit and cheer is something that makes the long, cold months less stressful. With the air getting colder and the Christmas spirit getting warmer, what isn’t there to love about the holiday season? Those who do not believe in the magic of Christmas have never experienced it the right way.
Oftentimes, many forget to stop and look around at the holiday cheer that surrounds them this time of year. It’s a time where communities gather and join one another in the celebration of what makes this time of year so special.
To say the holiday season is not a time to admire all the wonderful things in life is the real hoax of the season. With the holiday season being the key reason many come together, it’s a time where even the most drawn apart families are brought back together to remember the importance of being given the family and life in which one obtains.
Families reunite, and those who may not have a family to celebrate the holiday season with are surrounded by the community created from the holiday spirit. The warm feeling that fills the cold December air is nothing short of holiday magic.
